SPL/IT ("the app") is built by Forrest McDaniel. This page explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and your rights regarding that data.
SPL/IT collects only the minimum data needed to provide its features:
Account information: If you choose to sign in, we store your Apple ID email address or the email you register with. This is used solely for authentication and to sync your data across devices.
Expense and group data: When you create groups and log expenses, that data is stored on our servers so it can be shared with your group members. This includes group names, member names, expense descriptions, and amounts. You enter all of this data yourself — we don't collect it automatically.
Display name: The name you choose to identify yourself within groups.
SPL/IT does not collect analytics, usage tracking, crash reports, location data, contacts, photos, or any other personal information beyond what's listed above. There are no third-party analytics SDKs, no ad networks, and no tracking pixels in the app.
The Quick Split bill calculator works entirely on your device. No data is sent to any server when you use it. No account is needed.
Account and group data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database platform. Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Row-level security policies ensure you can only access data for groups you belong to.
Your expense and group data is shared only with members of your groups — that's the whole point of the app. We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
Your data is retained as long as you have an active account. If you'd like your account and all associated data deleted, contact us at the email below and we'll process your request promptly.
SPL/IT is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
